CI SESSIONS & FACILITATIONS

Sessions and facilitations that build three capabilities and eight skills, from a one-hour keynote to a multi-day program

Self-contained sessions for conference breakouts, lunch-and-learns, and single bookings, each building two or more CI skills. Participants leave with CI skills they can apply immediately. Each session is a module of Becoming Culturally Intelligent; on its own it opens one door into the model, and together the nine are the full curriculum.

We provide content in live, remote, or hybrid settings, and longer workshops include interactive guides.

Our facilitations are most impactful when embedded within an organizational partnership—where training reinforces strategy and strategy sustains training. In some cases, individual workshops can serve as a starting point for organizations exploring CI for the first time.

Nine one-hour sessions for keynotes, lunch-and-learns, and coaching

Our signature facilitation on curiosity, empathy & compassion

Our offering for teams who want to collaborate with better awareness

Self-contained sessions for conference breakouts, lunch-and-learns, and single bookings, each building two or more CI skills. Participants leave with CI skills they can apply immediately. Each session is a module of Becoming Culturally Intelligent; on its own it opens one door into the model, and together the nine are the full curriculum.

01 Curiosity of Self | The Inside Work of CI

Before leaders can be curious about others, they need to notice their own assumptions, reactions, and cultural conditioning. Tools for honest self-observation.

SKILLS BUILT | Curiosity of self  ·  Self-awareness

OUTCOME | One assumption pattern that shapes how they lead, and a question to interrupt it

04 Compassionate Action

Compassion is empathy in action. This session focuses on the move from "I see you" to "I'll do something" and what that looks like in each leader's role.

SKILLS BUILT | Empathy  ·  Compassion

OUTCOME | One compassionate action to take within seven days

07 Integrity | Having Hard Conversations

The conversation a leader keeps avoiding costs the team every week it waits. Participants rehearse it with a structure for holding a boundary, naming impact, and staying in integrity when the stakes are high.

SKILLS BUILT | Self-compassion Boundaries  ·  Integrity

OUTCOME | A rehearsed opening for one hard conversation, and a date to have it

02 Deepening Curiosity to Create Trust

Curiosity is the entry point of CI and the foundation of trust with people whose context differs from ours. Participants shift from assumption to inquiry as a daily leadership practice.

SKILLS BUILT | Curiosity of others  ·  Curiosity of self

OUTCOME | Two curiosity practices for the next challenging conversation

05 Self-Compassion as a Leadership Practice

Drawing on Neff's research, self-compassion as a leadership capacity. Leaders who can meet their own struggles with kindness lead others more steadily under pressure.

SKILLS BUILT | Self-awareness  ·  Self-compassion

OUTCOME | A self-compassion practice for pressured moments

08 Interrupting Bias in Leadership Decisions

Bias lives in the shortcuts that shape hiring, feedback, and advancement. Participants surface the assumptions behind a real decision and practice the questions that interrupt them before they act.

SKILLS BUILT | Curiosity of self  ·  Self-awareness  · Empathy  · Compassion

OUTCOME | One decision examined for bias, and a question to ask before the next one

03 Empathy | Listening to Learn

Leaders practice listening as an act of learning, drawing on Wiseman's four empathy skills.

SKILLS BUILT | Curiosity of others/self  ·  Empathy

OUTCOME | A default listening style identified, and the empathy skill most in need of development

06 Boundaries as Acts of Compassion

Boundaries protect what matters: your capacity, your team, your mission. Boundary-setting as a CI skill that serves everyone involved.

SKILLS BUILT | Boundaries  Compassion ·  Self-compassion

OUTCOME | Draft language for one boundary conversation

09 Cultural Values Introduction

Teams bring different defaults to the same work: how we treat time, who decides, how directly we speak. Participants locate their own preferences across the Ten Cultural Value Expressions and see where a colleague’s differ, so friction becomes something to name.

SKILLS BUILT | All 8

OUTCOME | Value preferences named, and one team friction reframed as a values difference

BCI is the CI sessions delivered as one arc, with the CI Assessment on the front so participants see where they stand before they practice. It develops the three capabilities through their eight skills, using real workplace scenarios so participants practice what they learn: curiosity of self and others in approaching difference with an open mind; self-awareness and empathy through Wiseman's four empathy skills in real tensions; compassion, self-compassion, boundaries, and integrity in translating insight into one specific, observable next step.

Grounded in CITC’s validated CI model, this facilitated experience equips leaders and teams with practical tools for growth. Interactive sessions and guided reflection promote self-awareness, skill-building, and strategic application.

The three-hour expansion of session 09, with the Cultural Values Inventory and individual and team reports.

he Ten Cultural Value Expressions show how we prefer to be in different circumstances, from communication style to how we treat time. There is no single "right" way to approach a situation; cultural, personal, and situational influences shape how each of us views the world. Understanding how others express their values makes interpersonal conflict easier to name and compassionate communication easier to practice.

◊    Feeling values | How we relate to our communities, measure our lives, and express emotions
◊    Thinking values | How we approach decision-making, apply standards, and prioritize tasks
◊    Acting values | How we prefer leadership, achieve goals, view schedules, and communicate

Designed for international and multicultural teams, and for teams navigating interpersonal conflict; carries the most impact paired with BCI.
